Temperature Converter

Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin have different zero points. Conversion uses an offset, not a single factor. °F = (°C × 9/5) + 32. °C = (°F − 32) × 5/9. K = °C + 273.15. Kelvin must not be negative. Temperatures below 0 K, −273.15 °C, or −459.67 °F are rejected.

Quick examples

Why multiplication alone fails

0 °C is not 0 °F. Water freezes at 0 °C and 32 °F under standard conditions, so a scale offset is required. The visualization places both readings on a Kelvin axis from absolute zero rather than treating the two numbers as proportional from zero.
